John Frank, DDS
Meet Dr. Frank
Dr. Frank is a life-long resident of central Iowa. He was born and raised in the Des Moines area, growing up in the small town atmosphere of Prairie City, Iowa. Following completion of his surgical specialty training, he has returned to the rural Prairie City countryside and resides on the family farm.
Dr. Frank completed his undergraduate education at the University of Iowa in 1978. He received a Bachelor of Science degree. That same year, he started his graduate training at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1982.
Following graduate school, Dr. Frank practiced general dentistry for 4 years before returning to his post-graduate training. He completed a 1-year residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in General and Hospital Dentistry. He then started his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the Gunderson Clinic in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Upon completion of his surgical training, he returned home to central Iowa to practice his specialty.
Dr. Frank joined Oral Surgeons, P.C. in 1991 and has been practicing at locations both in Des Moines and Newton since that time. He holds staff positions at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Iowa Lutheran and Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He also maintains a staff position at Skiff Medical Center in Newton, Iowa. He has served as Dental section chief at both Mercy Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran Hospitals.
Dr. Frank is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He maintains membership with the American Dental Association, the Iowa Dental Association, and the Des Moines District Dental Society. He is a member of the Jasper County Dental Society.
Licensed to practice dentistry in Iowa, he maintains active status as a provider for Advanced Cardiac Life Support and maintains his Iowa General Anesthesia Permit for Dentistry.
