Dr. Jepsen is a lifelong Iowan who joined the practice in Des Moines in 1972. He graduated from the University of Iowa with degrees in B.S., M.S., D.D.S., and has specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. After two years in the armed forces, he came to Iowa and joined this practice.
Dr. Jepsen currently holds staff positions at Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran Hospital. He has held Section Chief positions at both of the above named hospitals. He has served a term as a member of the West Des Moines School Board and was previously president of the Westparks Foundation of the Parks of West Des Moines.
Dr. Jepsen is a Board Certified Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Jepsen is also a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and American Dental Association, the Iowa and Des Moines Dental Society, the Academy of Osseointegration and the International Congress of Oral Implantologist. He holds certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support. Dr. Jepsen currently enjoys all aspect of oral and maxillofacial surgery, but he especially is interested in dentoalveolar surgery with its associated pathology. Dr. Jepsen is also very much involved with dental implants. Dr. Jepsen regularly attends meetings, seminars and conferences to stay current in a field such as oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Dr. Jepsen and his wife Karen enjoy biking and have biked in many states and foreign countries. They also enjoy traveling to visit their four sons and three grandchildren. Dr. Jepsen also enjoys tennis, upland birds and big game hunting.
