Preprosthetics

In some cases, it might be necessary to prepare the jaws for teeth, implants and/or dentures. You will be examined, and your surgeon will indicate preprosthetics as necessary. The procedures typically include smoothing or shaping the jawbone to remove sharp areas prior to denture fabrication, removal of extra bone growth in the upper or lower jaw called tori, and contouring the bone prior to placement of implants which will support prosthesis.
